The All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates for the governorship election in Bayelsa State, David Lyon and Douye Diri have taken their campaigns to the grassroots, pledging to create jobs, construct road to link communities in the hinterland, if elected governor.
Lyon promised to give priority to the construction of road from Egbemo-Angalabiri, in Ekeremor Local Government Area, to Amassoma, in Southern Ijaw LGA, if elected.
Diri equally promised to ensure construction of the long awaited Nembe -Brass Highway, when given the mandate to rule the state.
Speaking at a well attended rally in Ekeremor, the APC governorship flag bearer, who solicited for the people’s support, appealed for their votes in the election, promising to enhance their wellbeing.
Lyon promised to work with young and old people, as his government will be all-inclusive, irrespective of their areas.
Diri, in company of his running mate, Senator Ewrudjakpo, Dr. Nimibofa Ayawei the Director of Campaigns, the state PDP Chairman, Chief Cleopas Moses and other PDP leaders, was received by enthusiastic PDP supporters.
