An engineering student of the Rivers State University was killed on Wednesday by suspected cultists in the Ada George area of Port Harcourt.
The student identified as Linus Chioma, said to be on his way to school, was found dead on the road with some machete wounds on his body.
The killing of the student came less than 48 hours after a final year student of RSU, Prince Barisua, was shot dead near a hostel in the university.
Spokesman for the police in the state, Mr Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the latest attack, adding that Chioma’s body was found along Ada George Road in Port Harcourt.
Omoni also confirmed that the corpse had machete wounds.
He said they had begun investigations into the matter.
The officer said, “The student was found dead along Ada George road with machete wounds all over his body. We learnt that he was a student of the Rivers State University, but we are yet to ascertain that.
He also said they had arrested two persons in connection with the cult clash that led to the killing of Barisua.
Omoni, who identified the suspects as Elechi Chibuzor and Nnamdi Chibundu, said they arrested them on Tuesday.
