Fubara appoints ex-factional speaker Ehie as chief of staff

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of ex-factional speaker of the state assembly Edison Ehie as the Chief of Staff at Government House.

The approval is coming a month after Ehie closest ally to Fubara resigned his position as speaker and vacated his seat as a member representing Ahoada-East Constituency 2, at the State Assembly.

The former Chief of Staff, Chidi Amadi, who is a kinsman to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom, resigned from the position at the hit of the political crisis that raged between Fubara and Wike.

Ehie after his resignation was rumoured to have been appointed to the same position but the report was not confirmed till yesterday.

Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, in a statement said, the newly appointed Chief of Staff and Special Advisers alongside one guest each are expected to be seated at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, on Monday, 29th January 2024 at 10:30 am, for the swearing-in ceremony by the State Governor at 11:00 am.

The Special Adivers to be sworn in are Dr, Darlington Orji, Solomon Abel Eke, Aminayanasam Fiberesima, Deeyah Bariene and Ohia Prince. (The Guardian)
