Governor Okowa has taken Delta to new heights, says top aide Kevin Olu

THE GUARDIAN

Kevin Olu, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has said that his principal has taken Delta state to new heights of development in all sectors and indices for measuring human and societal strides.

Olu, who has been in the corridors of power for over eight years now and has closely worked with other past governors of the ‘Big Heart’ state, is without any equivocation eminently qualified to comment on issues that concern Delta State.

Not one given to flattery given his strong conviction for fairness and justice, Olu, who has vast interest in marine vessels and equipment business, said Governor Okowa has helped in taking Delta to a state of economic sustainability.

Speaking in an interview with reporters in Asaba, Olu said: “His Excellency, Governor Okowa, has changed the narrative in Delta State. He has transformed the face of the state for the best. He has consolidated on what other past governors have done. He is a great leader and has really made our Delta State a wonderful place to live in.”

Speaking further, Kevin Olu said the Delta governor has shaped the political landscape of the state, stressing that, “the leadership style of His Excellency is such that other political stakeholders in the state have keyed into the narrative that our governor is preaching, practicing and living.

“Governance is about the people, for the people, and by the people and from what I have seen in these past six years of this administration, which I am actively part of, the narrative here is such that the governor is rolling a people-centred government.

“What the governor has made clear from the first day he came into the exalted seat is that the policies we are implementing should be people friendly. And let me tell you the beauty of this policy thrust has made our state one of the safest in terms of security and an economically prosperous state. The people are the ones driving this train because the policies we framed and implemented to favour the majority of masses”, added Kevin Olu.

Speaking further, Olu, who is the CEO of Orit-Winors and First Triple Billionaire Limited, said: “We have an organization that carries out charity works on behalf of our companies. Every year in some parts of Delta State, we pay some children school fees, and we go as far as the remote villages to give them what they need at that point in time. I did borehole and did some other things for the villagers in my place”.

The Business Administration Diploma and Bachelor of Science degree holder in Public Administration from Ambrose Ali University in Ekpoma, Edo state has also been sponsoring a growing list of Nigerian footballers who now ply their trades in Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands.

“Everything I am doing for the people is borne out of goodwill and for their benefit, not for cheap gains or to show-off, which is the reason I do not publicize them on social media.”
