Popular Bayelsa blogger kidnapped in Yenagoa

THE GUARDIAN

A popular news blogger and owner of Naijalivetv.com, Mienpamo Saint, was yesterday abducted at his home, off INEC road in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, by some unknown masked men.

This incident occurred around 1a.m. yesterday, according to his relatives. They said his phones and that of his relatives were taken before he was whisked to an unknown destination. The abduction of the blogger was barely a day after the police launched manhunt for the kidnappers of octogenarian father of Sagbama council Chairman, Pa Napoleon Alale, who was kidnapped from his country home in Agbere Community.

When contacted, spokesperson for the Police in Bayelsa, Ansinim Butswat, said he was yet to be briefed on the matter, promising to get back to our correspondent as soon as he had more information.

Reacting to the incident, a Civil Rights Group, Yenagoa Media Forum, condemned the abduction of Mienpamo, calling on security operatives in the state to expedite action in rescuing the media practitioner.
